AFCEA Energy, formerly known as the AFCEA Germantown Chapter was officially incorporated in June of1998. The chapter was established through collaboration of the US of Department of Energy (DOE) and senior industry representatives. Since 1998, the chapter has been fully supported by the DOE and other federal agencies.
The chapter hosts periodic technical community and industry events across the energy community at select D.C. locations. The number of meeting attendees has grown significantly over the years. Monthly chapter meetings are held in the Main Auditorium at the DOE Headquarters at the Forrestal Building in D.C.
The new AFCEA ENERGY chapter provides a forum where scientific, technology, and policy leaders from industry and government can come together to address the needs of the energy community. AFCEA Energy leverages Web 2.0 and other collaborative tool sets to create a virtual environment in order to support a more open and transparent government.
